My FAVORITE Thing about this house

My absolutely FAVORITE thing about this house is the L shaped 15 x 26 foot family room/ playroom. This room is accessed from the front hall and is located in the basement.

It provides us with a place for the children to watch T.V., play video games, do arts & crafts.
All without making a mess of the rest of the house. This room includes two storage closets and has easy access to the fenced in yard.

Help me sell my house!

Tom and I have been looking at property for over a year and by accident we stumbled across a house that we feel has what we have been looking for. Of course in order to buy this house we need to sell ours. I was told that if I can find my own buyer then I get a discount on the commission. So, because I love a deal as well as a challenge I have decided to use this as a forum to advertise our house for sale. If you know of anyone or think you know of anyone who may be interested in looking at a house in Oxford, Massachusetts please share our information. We would greatly appreciate it if you would this informational blog on your Facebook and Myspace pages. If you are interested in setting up a showing or if you have a question about the area, house or property you may contact me at lhgsd5@gmail.com.

For further information on the property you can access the MLS listing in the "Helpful Information" section.

Thank You,

Tom & Michele

Welcome to Our Home

When we thought about constructing this house we wanted it to have the cozy feel of a cape but to also have an open and airy feeling with plenty of natural light. In order to accomplish this we constructed the house with large hallways, stairways and rooms which open up into one another. The downstairs flooring is constructed in wide pine boards with square nails and finished with a clear coat of polyurethane.

The Front Hall

As you walk through the front door you step into a good sized front foyer which has a convenient coat closet.

To the right is the extra wide stairway to the second floor

and the 17x15 living room, which has a beautiful brick fireplace with blue stone hearth built by my wonderful brother-in-law.

To the left of the foyer you can access the 10x13 dining room with bay window

or the Kitchen

The kitchen measures 14X20, with custom oak cabinets, plenty of counter space, an island, broom closet, oversize pantry closet & ceiling fan.

The sliding doors in the kitchen lead to a deck which overlooks Mikinstry Pond

When entertaining guests, the kitchen has easy access to the dining room

From the kitchen, the back hall leads to the living room on the right

and to the left is a half bath & laundry

A side door leads out to a fenced in yard

The Yard

The side yard is fenced in & has four gates for convenient access and two raised beds for a vegetable garden

The yard also has a shed for storage

The Upstairs

The Master Bedroom

The master bedroom measures 18x14 with wall to wall carpet & has a spacious feel due to the 9 foot ceilings.

The walk in closet & extra storage space located within the closet provides ample storage.

Bedroom Two

The Second Bedroom measuring 12x12 also has wall to wall carpet, a large closet and additional storage space.

Bedroom Three

Measures 15x11, with wall to wall carpet and a large closet

The Full Bath

Located upstairs the full bathroom has tile flooring and a large linen closet

The Dormer

We wanted the upstairs hall to feel open, airy and light, so we have a double window dormer in the front of the house which could be used as an office space or sitting area. As you can see it provides plenty of natural light.

The upstairs hall provides an additional storage closet. The flooring is done in wide pine boards with square nails and the railing maintains the open feel.
