Welcome to Our Home

When we thought about constructing this house we wanted it to have the cozy feel of a cape but to also have an open and airy feeling with plenty of natural light. In order to accomplish this we constructed the house with large hallways, stairways and rooms which open up into one another. The downstairs flooring is constructed in wide pine boards with square nails and finished with a clear coat of polyurethane.

The Front Hall

As you walk through the front door you step into a good sized front foyer which has a convenient coat closet.

To the right is the extra wide stairway to the second floor

and the 17x15 living room, which has a beautiful brick fireplace with blue stone hearth built by my wonderful brother-in-law.

To the left of the foyer you can access the 10x13 dining room with bay window

or the Kitchen

The kitchen measures 14X20, with custom oak cabinets, plenty of counter space, an island, broom closet, oversize pantry closet & ceiling fan.

The sliding doors in the kitchen lead to a deck which overlooks Mikinstry Pond

When entertaining guests, the kitchen has easy access to the dining room

From the kitchen, the back hall leads to the living room on the right

and to the left is a half bath & laundry

A side door leads out to a fenced in yard

The Yard

The side yard is fenced in & has four gates for convenient access and two raised beds for a vegetable garden

The yard also has a shed for storage
